‘Scottish Open third-place finisher’ Byung-hoon Ahn jumps 46 spots to No. 85 in world rankings

Byung-hoon Ahn (32-CJ Logistics), who tied for third place at the Genesis Scottish Open ($9 million in prize money), a joint event of the U.S. Professional Golf Association (PGA) Tour and DP World Tour, is ranked 85th in the world.

The South Korean is ranked No. 85 in the Men’s Golf World Rankings, which were released today (Nov. 17), up 46 spots from last week’s No. 131.

Ahn finished tied for third at the Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland, United Kingdom, on Sept. 16 with a final score of 10-under-par 270.

It was his third top-10 finish of the season and earned him a spot in next week’s The Open.

The Scottish Open performance marks Ahn’s first top 100 ranking since April 2021 (No. 96), nearly two years and three months ago. Ahn’s previous best ranking was 24th in 2016.

Among South Korean players, Im Sung-jae (25? CJ Logistics) is the highest-ranked at No. 23. Kim Ju-hyung (21, Nike Golf) followed at No. 24, followed by Kim Si-woo (28, CJ Logistics) at No. 36 and Lee Kyung-hoon (32, CJ Logistics) at No. 53.

Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), the winner of the Scottish Open, moved into second place, dropping Yon Rahm (Spain) to third. 고스톱 Scotty Schaeffler (USA) remained in first place.
