The Korea Ladies Professional Golf (KLPGA) Tour will open the door to the 2024 season in Singapore on the 7th.

The KLPGA Tour will hold the Hana Financial Group Singapore Women’s Open (total prize money of 1.1 million Singapore dollars) at the Tampines Course (par 72, 6,548 yards) at Tanah Merah Country Club in Singapore for four days starting on the 7th.

It has been 17 years since the 2007 season that the KLPGA Tour season opener is held in March.

Until the 2020 season, the opening match was held in China and Vietnam in December of the previous year, and in the 2021 and 2022 seasons, the Lotte Rent-a-Car Women’s Open held in Jeju Island in April of that year was the first competition of the season in the aftermath of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19).

And through this competition in the 2023 season, the ‘December Overseas Opening Game’ has resumed, and this year it will be held three months later, in March.

As four months have passed since the final game of the 2023 season, expectations are high for the performance of tour players who must have recovered their stamina and refined their skills during the winter.

Lee Ye-won (21), who had the best year by sweeping the prize money, grand prize, and lowest scoring awards, is determined to make an even bigger leap forward in her third year on the regular tour.

Park Ji-young (28), who achieved multiple wins (3 wins) in her first season and has a total of 7 wins, will participate as the defending champion.

Jiyoung Park was lucky enough to win the championship last season with her performance up to the second round as the final third round match was canceled due to a local lightning strike.

Lim Jin-hee (25), who defeated Lee Ye-won and Park Ji-young to become the most wins champion (4 wins), is having a busy debut season on the LPGA Tour.

The trio of rookies for the 2023 season, including Kim Min-byeol (20), who won the Rookie of the Year Award, Bang Shin-sil (19), and Hwang Yu-min (20), are now two years apart from each other.

Park Min-ji (25), who said, “I will return with the attitude of a rookie,” welcomes the 2024 season with a fierce attitude.

Park Min-ji, who won six games in a row in 2021 and 2022, had to be satisfied with defending her title twice last year.

Patty Tawatanakat (Thailand), the 2021 LPGA Tour Rookie of the Year, will also participate.

Amateur national team members Lee Hyo-song and Oh Soo-min also compete against professional players. Esther Kwon, a Korean who ranked 69th in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), was also invited.

This tournament is co-hosted by the Singapore Golf Association (SGA). 108 players from the Asia-Pacific region, including 79 from the KLPGA and 29 from the SGA, will participate. 성인웹툰
