The MSPT is returning to FireKeepers Casino Hotel this week (16-19 May) for one of the largest guaranteed prize pools ever offered in the Midwest. The stop, which requires players be 21 or older to play, is posting a $1,000,000 guarantee and looking to generate a seven-figure prize pool for the fifth time in a row.
The $1,100 buy-in, $1,000,000 Main Event kicks off Thursday, 16 May.
The Main Event will feature three starting flights – all with a noon start time – beginning with Day 1A on Thursday, 16 May. Days 1B and 1C will then be on Friday, 17 May and Saturday, 18 May respectively. The remaining players from each flight will combine on Sunday, 19 May at 11 a.m. and play until a champion is crowned.
The Main Event final table will be broadcast live (15-minute delay) worldwide on msptpoker.com using RFID technology allowing all viewers to see the hole cards. In addition, the entirety of the Main Event will be live reported in the MSPT’s live blog.
Most recently, the 2018 MSPT Michigan State Poker Championship last October drew a near-record 1,271 entries. That tournament was won by Matt Stammen, who pocketed $218,565.
Last May, the MSPT FireKeepers Main Event set the record for largest ever poker tournament in Michigan history with 1,287 entries! Mark Brazis won that event for $221,323.
