After finishing with a bronze medal in the women’s table tennis team event at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian

Games, Korean Air’s Shin Yubin said she will put the disappointment behind her and focus on her remaining matches.

South Korea, led by Oh Kwang-heon, lost to Japan 1-3 in the women’s team event quarterfinals at the

Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games on Sept. 25 at the Archer Canal Sports Park Gymnasium in Hangzhou, China.

Korea’s ace Shin Yubin played in the No. 1 and No. 4 singles, but came up short against Hina Hata (0-3) and Miu Hirano (1-3), respectively.

Speaking to the media in the Mixed Zone after the match, Shin said, “It’s good to win, but the result is not

in my favor. I’m grateful to my sisters for helping me win a medal at my first Asian Games,” Shin said after the team event.

“The team event is a very stressful event for all athletes,” she said, adding, “I’m disappointed with the

back to my hostel and analyze the problems I encountered so that I can play well in the remaining competitions.”

After a day’s rest, Shin Yubin will resume her medal hunt on Sunday in the women’s singles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles.
