Kim Na-hyun Secures Qualification for Paris Olympics in Women’s Diving 10m Platform

Failed to advance to the finals of the World Championships, but won the right to participate and won 1 ticket for Korea as a duplicate country.

Kim Na-hyeon (20, Gangwon Provincial Office) secured the right to participate in the women’s 10m platform swimming and diving event at the Paris Summer Olympics.

The Korea Swimming Federation said on the 6th, “Kim Na-hyun did not advance to the finals of the 2024 Doha World Aquatics Championships, but among the 12 people who advanced to the finals, excluding countries that have already qualified for the Olympics, she was included in the top 12.” 바카라사이트

Na-Hyun Kim placed 16th out of 18 people with a total of 250.95 points in the first to fifth periods in the 2024 World Championships Diving Women’s 10m Platform semifinals held at the Hamad Aquatic Center in Doha, Qatar on the 5th, missing out on a ticket to the finals of the top 12.

However, athletes from countries that have already qualified for the Paris Olympics,

including China, which earned two tickets to the Paris Olympics,

the most per country, at last year’s Fukuoka World Championships,

advanced to the finals, and Korea also received one ticket.

In diving, qualifications for the Paris Olympics are distributed to the National Olympic Committee (NOC) rather than to individual athletes.

The International Aquatics Federation has decided that the method of distributing qualifications

for the Paris Olympics for the individual diving event will be ’12 tickets for the 2023 Fukuoka World Championships,

a maximum of 5 tickets for each continental championship, and 12 tickets for the 2024 Doha World Championships.’

However, by limiting the number of individual event participants per country to two,

qualifications for the Paris Olympics were distributed even to countries that did not produce the top 12 at the World Championships, and thanks to Na-Hyeon Kim,

Korea won the right to participate in the women’s 10m platform.

To date, Korean diving has secured two qualifications for the Paris Olympics.

Paris Olympics

Last year, Kim Young-taek (22, Jeju Provincial Office)

advanced to the finals in the men’s 10m platform at the Fukuoka Games,

giving Korean diving its first ticket to the Paris Olympics.

The Korean Swimming Federation plans to grant Kim Young-taek and Kim Na-hyun the right to participate in the Paris Olympics.

Na-Hyun Kim was dispatched to the Fukuoka World Championships last year as the federation’s own national representative,

not as a national representative recognized by the Korea Sports Council.

At this year’s Doha Games, he stood on the platform as a ‘national representative’ recognized

by the Korea Sports Council and even won the right to participate in the Paris Olympics.

Kim Na-hyun said through the Korea Swimming Federation,

“Based on last year’s experience, I made up for many of the areas I was disappointed in and practiced intensively from the basics again,

so I received a higher score than before when I entered the swimming pool.

From the moment I started my career as an athlete,

I wanted to participate in the Olympics.”

“It was my goal. 메이저사이트

I will do my best to show a good performance in the women’s synchronized 10m platform,

where I will compete with senior Kwon Ha-rim.”
