The professional baseball Lotte Giants acquired veteran left-handed pitcher Jin Hae-soo (37) through a trade with the LG Twins.
On the 27th, the Lotte club announced that it had decided to hand over the 5th round pick of the 2025 season KBO League rookie draft to LG in exchange for signing Jin Hae-soo.
Jin Hae-soo joined the KIA Tigers as a 2nd 7th round pick in 2005,
went through SK Wyverns (currently SSG Landers), and settled in LG in 2015 through a trade.
At LG, Pil Seung-jo played an active role as a left-handed reliever,
and did not get many opportunities to play this season with 2 holds and an ERA of 3.68 in 19 games.

Lotte Giants, which needed a left-handed reliever, succeeded in filling the power gap by bringing in the experienced Jin Hae-soo.
Jin Hae-soo’s first-team career records are 788 games, 23 wins, 30 losses, 2 saves, 152 holds, and an average ERA of 4.96.
Lotte general manager Park Jun-hyuk revealed the reason for recruiting him,
saying, “The goal is to strengthen the left-handed pitcher’s power,
and he is a player who will immediately contribute to next season’s power.
We highly evaluated the fact that he has accumulated a wealth of experience by playing in many games through diligent self-management.”
LG, which has the strongest bullpen among the 10 teams,
chose another young player instead of giving Jin Hae-soo a chance this season.
Jin Hae-soo played in the first team only until June of this season,
then moved down to the second team, and showed excellent results with 1 win,
1 save, 5 holds, and an ERA of 1.61 in 27 Futures League games,
but was not called up to the first team until the end.
The LG club explained, “This trade was conducted with a focus on securing the club’s future resources.”
